Please drop us a line are widely used as grinding equipment, and the quality of equipment installation directly affects the subsequent use of the ball mill. In order to ensure the stable operation of the ball mill, correct methods and methods must be used. However, before it is officially put into operation, there must be no deviation in key parts. Installation errors will lead to the grinding rate and production capacity of the ball mill.

Precautions for Ball Mill Installation and Commissioning

1. Check whether the ball mill meets the following debugging conditions

Whether the ball mill equipment is fully installed according to the drawings and ensure that all parts of the equipment are in the correct position. It is required to have records of the complete installation process and pass the inspection;

The strength of equipment foundation concrete and secondary grouting concrete must reach the strength level required by the design;

The PLC control system, temperature gauge and pressure gauge of the ball mill can all be reliably put into use;

The ball mill equipment has been installed and the grinding workshop system is complete;

The surrounding environment of the equipment is free of garbage and debris, and the scaffolding is removed;

Ensure complete water, electricity, and communication facilities;

Ensure that the passage is smooth and smooth for operators to pass through;

Ensure that the surrounding environment is free of flammable and explosive materials that may easily cause safety accidents, and be equipped with corresponding fire-fighting facilities to prevent accidents;

Ensure that the amount of lubricant used during ball mill operation is sufficient;

2. Inspection work before debugging the ball mill

The inspection work requires meticulousness and keeping the equipment in good condition. details as follows:

The sector block and bearing bush of the lower bearing seat should be calibrated with the center line; the large gear and pinion gear should be calibrated according to the instructions.

The sector block of the lower bearing seat, the bottom plate of the pinion gear, the bottom frame of the main gear and the bottom frame of the motor are completely grouted, and the grouting strength meets the design strength requirements.

All anchor bolts, connecting bolts and main gear holding bolts should be tightened. The fixing bolts of the large gear should be tightened to the specified torque.

The bearing bush should be installed on the sector block of the bearing seat according to the rotation direction of the ball mill; the bearing bush should be calibrated according to the axial guide ring; the bearing seat seal should be installed correctly, and the joint points should be sealed with sealant.

All lubrication points of the ball mill should be fully lubricated according to the lubrication requirements; the lubricating oil stations, bearings, reducers, and motors should be well lit.

The pipes and hoses are installed in the correct order and in accordance with the assembly instructions. There are no blockages in the pipes; the inlet and outlet hopper connections are well sealed.

The temperature sensor is installed into the bearing bush, has been electrically debugged, and has good contact between the sensor head and the metal.

Ensure that the monitoring equipment is well connected; the flow monitor, pressure switch and temperature sensor are set properly; the oil pressure gauge, thermometer, emergency button, and interlock device instructions are reliable.

Prepare the tools you need in advance: thermometer, vibration meter, listening stick, walkie-talkie, and test run record form.

3. Run the ball mill empty

The motor should be allowed to run for 2 hours under no-load conditions of the ball mill. During this period, it should be ensured that the motor's rotation direction is correct and the accident button works normally and reliably to ensure safety.

If the motor runs normally when idling, run the reducer idling for another 2 hours.

Connect the reducer and pinion coupling, install the protective cover, and start the lubricating oil system and cooling water system. Turn on the power of the ball mill, and after the rotation is normal, press the emergency button to stop, and check the condition of the main bearing, motor, and large and small gears to determine whether the rotation direction of the ball mill is correct. If there are no abnormalities, start the ball mill and run it for 8 hours.

During the trial operation, check the heating of the ball mill bearing seal, the temperature and pressure of the lubricating oil, and the temperature is best controlled between 40-50°C. If there is any abnormality, stop cooling immediately; after the operation, check the resistance between the large and small gears. Force distribution should be greater than 70%.

When the machine is running empty, if the lubricating oil system works normally and no oil leakage occurs, the ball mill runs smoothly without obvious noise, the vibration value of the main bearing, motor, and pinion does not exceed 0.1mm, and there is no obvious damage or heat to any component. Then the empty truck runs normally.

4. Test run of ball mill under load

According to the ball mill ratio, a certain amount of steel balls are added into the barrel of the ball mill. The steel balls are added in batches. During the operation, the bearing temperature, current, and vibration intensity everywhere are measured. After the installation of the ball mill is completed, start running under load, add 70% of the specified load of grinding materials, and continue to run for more than 10 hours. During the process, tighten the threaded joints lining the ball mill and frequently check the threaded connections to prevent loosening.
When operating under load, the ball mill should meet the following requirements: the vibration of each part does not exceed 0.1mm, the motor's current has no abnormal fluctuations, the operation process is smooth, the noise is low, the connecting bolts are tight, and the cylinder has good sealing.
