               Kyodo News Agency stated that as of now,TEPCO has discharged a total of approximately 31200 tons of nuclear wastewater in four rounds of discharge into the sea.This move has sparked widespread concern and controversy.Since August last year,due to the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident,a large amount of nuclear wastewater has been discharged into the sea,causing a significant increase in the concentration of radioactive substances in the seawater.Moreover,TEPCO has hardly treated the nuclear wastewater discharged into the sea,resulting in radioactive substances in the discharged water that are not simply tritium,but also elements with ultra long half-lives such as iridium,americium,and strontium.

               The 54 radioactive elements in Fukushima nuclear contaminated water,some of which,such as cesium-137,have a half-life of up to 30 years.This means that these radioactive substances will exist in the marine environment and affect ecosystems and human health for decades.

               Japan now mainly relies on seawater to extract magnesium salts,including magnesium carbonate,magnesium sulfate,magnesium hydroxide,magnesium oxide,etc.Major chemical companies such as Kamishima Chemical Co.,Ltd.,Concordia Chemical Industry Co.,Ltd.,Futa Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.,Ube Co.,Ltd.,and Tatehoe Chemical Industry Co.,Ltd.all use seawater method for production.However,once the purchaser loses confidence in the products of a certain brand or country,the economy of that brand or country will be severely affected.At present,the sales of Japanese magnesium salts in the international market have significantly decreased.

               Recently,simulation renderings from the German Institute of Marine Science indicate that seawater contaminated with nuclear wastewater has already reached the locations of these companies'factories.This means that the magnesium salt products produced by these enterprises are no longer safe.The use and exposure to these products will pose a real threat to people's physical health,and also significantly undermine the confidence of downstream enterprises and consumers in these products.
